How can I tell what the specs are on this connector so I can replace it?  I need both the male and female sides. Do any of the numbers around the connector tell what it is?
It connects the PCB to a AAA battery compartment.  Forgot that the batteries were left in and they caused corrosion.

Also, what is the best way to clean up  the PWB?

Thanks

From the images you provided, the connector looks like a JST PH 2-pin connector:

  • Pin Count: Your connector has 2 pins.
  • Pitch (Pin Spacing): The spacing between the pins is likely 2.0 mm, which matches the JST PH series specification.
  • Shape and Latch: The rectangular plastic housing and latch design are typical of JST PH connectors.

To replace:
Female Side (Cable): Search for “JST PH 2.0mm 2-Pin Female Connector with Wires” (pre-assembled).
Male Side (PCB): Look for “JST PH 2.0mm 2-Pin Male Header” to solder onto the PCB.

Alright, that mess on the board? Totally fixable. You can try this:

  • Grab some isopropyl alcohol (the stronger, the better – like 90%+).
  • Find a soft toothbrush (or anything soft-bristled). No need to get aggressive here; gentle scrubbing works best.
  • Dip the brush in alcohol and start scrubbing off the gunk.
  • For really stubborn spots, just pour a bit of alcohol directly onto the area – it’ll help loosen everything up.
  • Let it dry completely. Like, bone dry. Don’t rush and power it back on while it’s still damp – bad things will happen!
  • Once it’s all dry, take a closer look. Check for any broken traces or damage. If everything looks clean and intact, you’re good to go.
